Triple Ultra Triathlon Lensahn

The Triple Ultra Triathlon Lensahn is a long-distance triathlon event. This ultra triathlon covers triple the Ironman distance: 11.4 kilometers of swimming, followed by 540 kilometers on the bike, and finishing with a triple marathon run (126.6 kilometers).

The event first took place in 1992 on the initiative of extreme athlete Wolfgang Kulow. Every year, around 50 athletes participate in the competition, which is held on the last weekend of July in Lensahn.

The swimming segment takes place in the outdoor pool in Lensahn (228 laps of 50 meters). The bike course is a loop between Lensahn and Beschendorf, consisting of a total of 68 laps of approximately 8 km each. The concluding run is a loop course (98 laps of 1.32 km) within Lensahn.

To qualify for the Triple Ultra Triathlon Lensahn, athletes must provide proof of successfully finishing at least one Ironman triathlon (or a comparable distance) within the two preceding years.
